Job No’: VLSI10— ASIC Designer

In this position, the individual’s design responsibilities include high and low-level module design and verification, RTL coding and logic generation, and netlist integrity checks (lint, clock domain checks, power island checks) for an embedded-processor based system on chip. Designs will be implemented at multiple foundries on multiple technology nodes (90nm, 65nm, etc.). Verification tasks may include test plan generation, Verilog test bench creation, test vector development/execution for ASIC designs and implementing robust test coverage and clearly communicating results to design engineers and management. Will assist test and characterization engineers in product verification.


This position requires a BSCS, BSCE, or BSEE; MSCS, MSCE, or MSEE preferred or equivalent with 5 or more years ASIC Design/Verification, including at least 2 years with embedded-processor products.


Required Skills: Strong skills in development and execution of ASIC test plans and Verilog test benches for embedded-processor designs; an understanding of multi-clock and asynchronous design problems and solutions; an understanding of ASIC Design-For-Test methodologies and familiarity with HDL simulation, gate level logic simulation, pre-layout vs. post-layout timing requirements; creative problem-solving skills and the ability to logically break complex problems down to manageable components; personal integrity, and an independent, self-motivated work ethic; proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment; excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills. Must be comfortable contributing to multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to coordinate priorities and initiatives. Management skills, including diplomacy, clear communication style and employee development. High level of skill in developing, mentoring, empowering, managing, and supporting staff. Excellent planning skills with an ability to work in a fast paced and limited resource environment.


Preferred Skills: Knowledge of ARM, USB or Modems. Experience using logic synthesis tools, optimization of timing, testability, and power in cost constrained designs; fluency with C/C++ and assembly language programming. Experience with 180nm or lower design methodology and tools is desirable.

Job No’: VLSI11—  ASIC Verification Engineer

In this position, the individual will participate in the logic verification of ASIC. Responsibilities include: RTL and Gate level simulation/verification and development of testbench using Verilog/Specman. Development of behavioral models with object oriented language. Evaluation and support of RTL verification tools/flows for design teams. The individual will be responsible for implementing and supporting Verilog/Specman modeling of circuit behavior. Will also implement and support Verilog/Specman implementation in verification methodology.

This position requires a BS/BA degree or equivalent with 3 or more years of related experience.
